Boardsmania has no user accounts and does not track you. The only thing it handles is the video you choose yourself, and that is deleted within 24 hours, unless you switch on Help improve Boardsmania.

Building a kinogram needs far more computing power than a phone has, so the video you pick is uploaded to our server and processed there. The app only ever receives the video you select yourself in the system picker; it cannot see the rest of your photo library.
The uploaded video and the pictures made from it are erased automatically at most 24 hours after processing. There are two exceptions, both your choice: feedback that you send with technical details attached, and Help improve Boardsmania (both described below). Otherwise we do not keep copies, we do not look at them, we do not use them to train anything, and we never publish them or pass them to anyone.
To count how many kinograms one phone makes (for a possible monthly limit in a future free version), the app sends a randomly generated identifier that exists only for this purpose. It is not your Apple ID, your phone number or your device's serial number, and it cannot be used to identify you.
Our server keeps short-lived operational records (the time of a request and an error message when something fails) so that faults can be fixed. They are deleted within 30 days.
You can send us feedback from inside the app (a bug, an idea, or something else). We receive the message you write, its type, the anonymous device identifier described above, and the app version.
The option Attach technical details is switched on by default and you can switch it off before sending. When it is on, we also receive your iOS version, the app build, and your most recent kinogram together with the log of how it was processed. A kinogram is a picture made from your video, so it may show you or the person you filmed.
Unlike videos, feedback is not erased after 24 hours. It stays on our server for 180 days and is then deleted automatically. It is stored in a private area that only we can open, it is used only to fix problems and improve the app, and we do not share it. To have a message and its attachments removed sooner, email info@boardsmania.com.
In the app's Settings you can switch on Help improve Boardsmania. It is off unless you turn it on. While it is on, we keep a copy of the trimmed clip each kinogram is made from (a few seconds of video), the finished kinogram and the log of how it was processed, linked only to the anonymous device identifier described above.
We use these copies only to find out why a kinogram turned out badly, to fix the app, and to train and test the models inside Boardsmania so that kinograms get better. A clip may show you or the person you filmed. We never publish the clips, sell them or pass them to anyone, and they are not used for anything other than developing Boardsmania.
Each copy is deleted automatically 12 months after it was made. When you switch the option off, everything kept from your phone is deleted straight away. Only clips made while the option was on are kept. Before you share a clip of someone else, make sure they are happy with it.
If you allow notifications, the app can tell you when your kinogram has finished building, even when your phone is locked. To do this, the app sends the server a notification token for your phone together with that one request. The server uses it only to send you that message, through the Expo push service and Apple's notification service. We do not save the token in our own storage; it exists only inside that processing job. You can turn this off in the app or in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Boardsmania.
iOS asks for your permission twice: once when you pick a video, and once when a finished kinogram is saved to your photo library. You can change both at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
boardsmania.com does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and it stores nothing in your browser. Fonts and images are served from our own site, so your browser does not contact Google or any other third party when you open it. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), which acts as our
processor. To deliver the pages and protect them from attacks, Cloudflare
necessarily handles your IP address and basic request data. If its security
check is triggered, it may set a strictly necessary security cookie
(for example __cf_bm, valid for 30 minutes), which the law allows
without consent. We do not read these records ourselves.
Notifications are delivered by Expo (Expo Technologies, Inc., United States) and by Apple. Expo only receives the notification token and the short message text, never your video or pictures.
Processing runs on servers operated by Modal Labs, Inc. (United States), which acts as our processor and does not use the data for its own purposes. Because this means your video is transferred outside the European Union, the transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Under the GDPR you may ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, object to its processing, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the Czech Republic, the Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.gov.cz).
In practice there is rarely anything to hand over: unless you switched on Help improve Boardsmania, your video is already gone within 24 hours. Write to info@boardsmania.com and we will answer within 30 days.
We process the video to deliver the service you asked for (performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Feedback is sent by you, and attaching technical details is your choice (consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; you can withdraw it by asking us to delete the message). Keeping clips for Help improve Boardsmania also rests on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR); you withdraw it by switching the option off, which deletes the clips. The device identifier and the technical records rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the free service usable and working (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Boardsmania is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
